“2kg”, “2000g” and “3.3L” all describe the same class of cream charger tank. The first two refer to the weight of nitrous oxide inside; the third is the cylinder’s volume. If you have seen all three and wondered whether they are different products — they are not.
One tank in this class holds roughly 250 standard 8g chargers’ worth of food-grade N2O, which makes it the usual choice for restaurants, bakeries and caterers working at volume.

Fill weights are not identical across brands, which is the detail most price comparisons miss. A 2112g tank carries about 6% more gas than a 2000g one.

- Lowest cost per serving — work from fill weight, not headline price. Our 2000g / 3.3L comparison ranks every tank on cost per 8g equivalent.
- Flavoured range — PrimeWhip and Hotwhip carry flavoured options; the rest are unflavoured. See flavoured tanks.
- Published purity — useful where a kitchen has its own sourcing standard to meet.
How many should you order?
Our minimum order is $250 and delivery is free across the provinces over $350. In practice that means three to four tanks per order for most kitchens, which also keeps gas turning over while it is fresh.
Smaller formats
If a 2kg tank would sit open too long, the 1364g / 2.2L format is the middle step, and 640g cylinders suit low-volume or multi-station service.
Before your first tank
A tank does not screw into a dispenser the way an 8g bulb does. It connects through a pressure regulator and hose to the same dispenser inlet. The regulator is a one-off purchase and works with every tank and brand we carry.
Food-grade nitrous oxide, sold for culinary use only — never for inhalation. Store upright, below 50 °C, away from heat and direct sunlight, and out of reach of children. You must be the age of majority in your province to buy.
